Sauna FAQs

Are our saunas insulated?

- Yes. We use rockwool r-14 in the ceilings and walls paired with sauna rated vapour barrier. All seams are taped and sealed.

What type of foundation or base do I need for my sauna?

- Our saunas arrive on pressure treated 4x4 runners which can rest on gravel, poured concrete, deck blocks, patio stones, sonotubes or helical piles. We have even had clients install their saunas directly on sand or the forest floor.

Why don't you use red cedar?

- Saunas are traditionally built out of the wood that is found in the forests surrounding the sauna. Since our saunas are built in Ontario, we use local white cedar, pine, spruce and aspen in our construction.

Aren't these species of wood more prone to mould?

- No. All of these types of wood have a natural resistance to mould and rot. We also always recommend that you thoroughly dry out your sauna by running your heater for about 20-25 minutes after your sauna bath - no matter what material is used.

Do you sell infrared saunas?

- All of our saunas can be purchased without a heater - and we can source any infrared system you may need.

Do you build your saunas using SIP panels?

- No, it is simply a coincidence! SIP panels are not suitable for sauna construction.

Can I choose a custom stain for the exterior of my sauna??

- Yes!

What type of roof do your saunas have?

- We use a corrugated metal roof that can be galvanized or a colour of your choosing. Under our steel roof we use a Tyvek roofing membrane.

Do you ship to the US?

- Yes! We take care of lining up all shipping logistics and duties. We also design and consult in the US and Europe.
